How You Can Help
Here are some ways you can help our support group, and/or raise money effortlessly for myeloma research:
◊ Help distribute support group flyers at your local clinic, library, senior center, etc. Contact us and we will send you flyers, email you an electronic version, or you can easily download our group flyer from the "Home" page on this site! Thanks!
◊ Bring refreshments to a meeting (cookies or other treats, beverages, paper supplies, etc.)
◊ Used cell phone recycling: We collect used cell phones for recycling to help raise money for myeloma research and to help pay for group supplies (paper, printing costs, postage, refreshments, etc.) Our group will get 50% of all money raised from the cell phone recycling, and the International Myeloma Foundation receives the other 50%. Bring in your old phones and we'll recycle them for you. If you can place a recycling box at your place of employment, church, senior center, etc. let us know and we will get you a box.
◊ Here are 3 great ways to help raise research money for the IMF:
♦ GoodSearch.com donates 50% of the revenue generated by advertising directly to the IMF each time you choose it as your charity of choice. Powered by Yahoo, you use it exactly as you would any search engine. In the box "Who do you GoodSearch for" enter the International Myeloma Foundation.
♦ GoodShop.com - every time you click on to one of the partner shopping sites from the GoodShop site and make a purchase, the IMF earns money, again by choosing it as the charity of choice. The amount donated varies but averages from 1 - 20% of the total sale, and 100% of the donation amount displayed on GoodShop goes to the IMF. Go directly to the GoodShop website, or you may click the GoodShop link from the GoodSearch site. In the "Who do you GoodShop for" box, choose the International Myeloma Foundation, then click on one of the retailer partner sites and start shopping!
♦ Shop for the IMF: Yet another way to earn research money effortlessly is to go to the IMF's website, click on "Helping the IMF", then on "Shop for the IMF". The IMF earns a percentage of the amount spent for any purchases you make using the links for any of the online stores, which include: Amazon.com, Buy.com, Delta Airlines, Drugstore.com, Hotels.com, J&R Electronics, Lands End, Macy's, Orbitz, Travelocity, Walmart, and 1-800-Flowers.com.
